Resistor

A Resistor is like a block or obstacle in a water pipe.
Consider the whole Electronic circuit as a water tank and a pipeline connected.

Voltage Source(V): This can be considered as a water tank at certain height. so the water inside the tank has certain potential. As the height increases the potential increases.
similarly a Voltage Source consists of electrons at certain potential(V).

Current (I): This can be considered as waterflow in the pipieline.
This is same as electron flow in the wire of the circuit.

Resistor (R): This can be considered as a block in the pipe.

Ohm's Law
In Water tank, if you increase the height, the water flow increases.
Similarly, if voltage increases, current flow increases.(R is constant)

If the block or obstacle's size increases, the waterflow decreases.
Similarly, if Resistance of Resistor increases, the current flow increases.(V is constant)
Combining all these Ohm proposed a very Basic law - (Ohm's Law)

V = I*R
